Otherwise, before that, you can do what you want with the program.

It's a 30-day trial so, yes, you have to pay for it after that.

Nonetheless, I'll download the trial when I get home, and from what I already see of it- I already love it.Anything by PortalGraphics (the guys who make OpenCanvas) is completely safe to download, install, and use- just try it out, it'seasy after a few test runs. Though, it might not be the most helpful to try and answer questions to a version of a product I haven't used yet (I' ve used the previous versions and love them all, even though I'm a Paint Tool SAI user right now). In addition, much more workspace can be used efficiently than before.īy Anonymous reviewed on January 13, 2010 OpenCanvas 4.5 features a new elegant look with a standardized size of Tool Palette and it now supports docking, window shading and adsorbing when moving the palette. The Tool Palette is probably the most interesting and welcome innovation. In this latest release of Open Canvas, there are a ton of new features including a new Tool Palette, Color Sampler, Preset Manager, Grabber Control, Menu and Shortcut Key.

Also, note that if you're used to Photoshop, you'll find OpenCanvas extremely familiar, as it follows the same basic guidelines: a large working area with floating windows displaying tools, settings, color palette and so on.

OpenCanvas features a simple friendly interface, even for first-time users. The installation process takes only a few minutes, after which you can begin drawing right away. OpenCanvas is one of the best crossover programs you will find when moving on from real paint brushes to digital design. I know it would definately use DllCall, but the trickiest part would be finding the size of the cursor as the only info OC gives is in the brush window with a circle and a slider bar.Conjure up eye-catching images and illustrations I'd like it to be a hollow circle the same pixel width as the brush you're using, like photoshop. One major thing I'd like to change in OC is the brush cursor. OC Network Helper script with N-SoCS and Titan's Anchor script:Īll you need to run it is to extract it to a folder containing OpenCanvas and run "OC Network Helper1.5_beta.ahk". The script also uses Broken Wing's N-SoCs server: I used Titan's anchor script to resize the controls for the chat window.

Clicking away from it will roll it up again. It rolls up the chat window into it's title bar until the mouse cursor is over it, then it restores the window back to it's regular size. The auto rollup fuction is for the chat window.

The rest of the keys are enabled in the options tab and mostly have descriptions.ĬRTL+SpacBar Pallet Hiding in the options tab: hides all of OC's pallet windows until your cursor comes near the edge of the screen. One hotkey you can use right off the bat is:Įsc : exits out of any window and returns to the main. In the chat window sometimes the text will flicker due to the scroll command being triggered when it shouldn't. Upon connecting, sometimes it won't go through properly and the chat window will popup blank I tried making a few fuctions to store and delete names from it's user list.but it's a bit tricky for me atm. It also has a simple chat window that copy/pastes the text from OC's crappy one. You simply choose a name and click connect and all the info is pasted into OC and it connects to that user. It's called a 'networking helper' because it saves a list of user names and the info to connect to them. Been a while since I've posted here, but here's a utility I made to make OpenCanvas 1.1 easier to use.
